Gearing up for camp

Woo hoo, I am done with my two summer classes!  I finished up with everything yersterday, so now I can rest my brain, lol.  It will be another week or so before I know what my final grades are, but I think I made an "A" or "B" in both classes.  It feels good to be done for now, although I do have to admit that I am looking forward to my on-campus classes which will start the week of August 15.  I will be getting to re-join a lot of my business classmates from last school year, it will be great to see them again . 

Basketball daycamp was tiring but fun, plus I got quite sore since it had been a few months since I last played basketball.  It made for quite a busy week for me as I was bouncing between day camp, schoolwork, and my job at Burger King.  In fact, my job has been really insane lately, I could hardly ever get a break.  So of course this left me very worn out and tired by the end of last week .


Thankfully I will be getting a long break next week........I am going to overnight summer camp, woo hoo!  My two sisters (Catlover and Bookprincess) will be going with me too.  It is teen week at a Christian camp that is about an hour and a half from here.  My younger sister Puppyprincess has already been there and she has told us all about the fun she had there.  It all sounds really great, so I am looking forward to some rest and relaxation next week.  The funny thing was, I was surprised when my mom told me that I could not bring my cell phone with me to camp .....camp rules say to leave electronic devices at home.  I wondered how I would keep in touch with my friends but my mom said to just tell them I am on vacation, lol, never mind the fact that I'd be too busy having fun at camp.  Yes, I know, sounds comical, but I guess I am a little attatched to my cellphone, lol  .  Then again, it will be nice to get a break from everything!

Basketball and a tag

I am currently at basketball day camp this week (see my avatar, lol).  It is nice to get to rest my brain a little, last week's schoolwork was  crazy.  My parlegal class assignments were a slight strain on my brain, lol, having to do some of law research stuff, along with writing a brief.  Despite the strain, I am still holding on with an "A" in this class, as well as my Expository Writing class.  Anyway, before my week gets any busier, I will answer a tag I got from my sister Bookprincess.  It's on your favorite movies in different categories.  Enjoy!:

On a break!

I am currently on a little break from school work due to the holiday, so I am resting my brain, lol.  Work at Burger King was totally insane this past weekend , it seemed to be non-stop customers at the drive-thru.  Part of it was probably because it was a holiday weekend plus we had a chicken sandwich special going, just $1.04 each.  People were coming and ordering 10 or more of these chicken sandwiches......we actually ran out of chicken.  It was crazy!  I do not have to go to work until Friday, I hope it won't be that crazy this weekend, I don't know if my sanity can take it.

A quick post!

Just popping in for a quick post here, lol, things stay busy as usual around here.  Work at Burger King has been very busy for me  and I had a pretty good-sized paycheck this week.  However, my car insurance was due today as well as my cell phone bill,  ugh!  I also needed to get a new pair of work shoes too because my other pair had holes in the bottom of them.  I was definitely not happy about so much of my paycheck going towards bills.  Both my mom and my dad said, "Welcome to adulthood!"  Sigh, I guess that's how it goes.  Anyway, all is going well with my two online classes and I continue to make good grades on my tests, quizzes, and essays.  Schoolwork and my job keep me busy, so what time I have left I try to get online to play my computer game or to blog.  I think things at Burger King will be extra busy this week because of the 4th of July holiday, so I guess I will just hang on for the ride, lol!

Working, working, working!

 Lol, no I'm not really going insane, but sometimes I feel like I am as I have been working non-stop at Burger King.   Things have been slightly crazy at work, enough to make me go nuts.  On Monday night, one of my co-workers got into trouble when he fixed the Burger King marquee, took a picture of it, and then posted it on Facebook.  I will not tell you what he put on the marquee as it is something I cannot repeat (yes, it was that bad).  The manager found out and boy did he get in trouble.  He was put on suspension with the possibility that he might get fired.....he ended up quitting. 

Another night, a customer wanted to add something to their order after they'd already paid for their meal.  They wanted to add a chocolate pie, however, we are not allowed to add onto a person's order once they've paid for one order already.  If we did this it would hold up the drive-thru and keep other customers waiting.  So, I told him that we cannot do add-ons, he would have to either park and come inside or go back thru the drive-thru again and order the chocolate pie.  Would you believe this guy started cussing me out over this , cussing over a chocolate pie.  He went on to the next window to pick up his order....the manager told him the same thing....we don't do add-ons, so go thru the drive-thru or come inside to get the chocolate pie.  Sigh, he drove on in a huff. Oh.....and did I mention the drive-thru customer who took two minutes to finally order something....he ordered an Icee, yes, he took two minutes to order one little item.  Ugh, why can't people use some common courtesy and know what they want BEFORE they get into line at the drive-thru?

Well enough of that, lol, I will be working most every night this week as well except for Wednesday.  It's crazy/busy but it will definitely make for a big paycheck for me.   My two online classes are going fine and I am making good grades.  Thankfully I only have one assignment due on Tuesday for the Paralegal class.  I also have some assignments for Expository Writing but they sound easy and are not due til later next week.  I will be having to write a comparison/contrast essay, I will be comparing/contrasting my two older sisters, lol,  they are different as night and day.  This assignment will be easy since I had to already do similiar essays when doing my high school work.  My mom has always been one to make us do the composition assignments in our schoolwork, even though I balked at doing it since it was not an easy process for me to put my thoughts on paper.  She always stressed the importance of needing to know how to write papers because in college they will want you to do papers.  I guess I can say I am glad she made me  stick with it because I eventually got better at it.  So now it's easy to do! 

Before I sign off, I want to congratulate my sister Catlover(15) and my youngest sister Puppyprincess(10)....they both placed in a blueberry contest today in the youth category.  Puppyprincess placed 2nd place for her Blueberry Upside Down Cake.  And Catlover place 3rd for her Hidden Blueberry Cake.  They each won a ribbon and a cash prize.  Way to go sisters!
