Going to camp!

  I'm going to camp in two days....woo hoo!  Actually, I will be taking off for my summer camp job this Saturday, I am so looking forward to this!  One thing though, I will not have internet access during this time, so I'm not going to be able to post blog entries.  However, I can write letters home or call once a week, so my mom has graciously offerred to post an entry here and there for me about what I write, they will be title "Letters from Camp", lol.  Anyway, as I said, I am so excited about all of this.  Keep me in your prayers as I venture off to my summer camp job!

Busy packing

Yes, my friends, I am already packing for my summer camp job, lol.   I have a little over a week until I go, but I am getting things done now....I guess I am in a little bit of a hurry to get going, lol!  Along with packing, I have been getting the Bible studies done and also memorizing some verses, all of this sent to me by e-mail from the camp I will be working at.  Since this is a Christian summer camp I will be working at, there is spiritual "packing" needing to be done as well.  It's a good way to get ready!

Along with this, I have managed to get some paperwork done for college for this Fall and get all that sent in.  My mom got an order form in the mail for ordering bedsheets for bed in the dorm.  You see, the dormitory beds are a little longer than your average twin size bed, so we need to get the bed sheets that will fit the bed.  I am so glad the beds there are longer, I am 6 ft. 1 in. tall, and it will be so nice for my feet NOT to hang over the end of the bed, lol .  I saw a couple of different bed sheet patterns I liked, so I circled those.  These will need to be ordered early, otherwise, if we wait too late we can end up having to choose from patterns/colors we don't like. 

Other stuff......I won second place in a hot dog eating contest on Saturday!We were at our town's strawberry festival and they had this contest going on.  We had five minutes to eat as many hot dogs as we could....I managed to eat five hot dogs in five minutes, so I won second place.  The first place winner had eaten 10 hot dogs in 5 minutes , can you believe that?!  I got a t-shirt, ribbon, and a gift card for a grocery store.  After that, my sister Catlover and I got to drive in a race car simulator.  I am embarrassed to say that my sister did better in the race than I did.  Not to be outdone by my younger sister, I challenged her to a water bomb game they had set up at one of the booths there.  Well, that didn't go exactly as I had planned either....let's just say I got soaking wet, lol !

Voting day and grade day!

Today was the day my state had its primaries, so I was off to vote today.  But before I did my voting, I did some volunteering with my county's Republican party.  I passed out flyers for Republican candidates, gave out some voting information, and passed out ballot samples.  I was really excited to be able to volunteer in this way....and finally get to vote! Later on tonight we will be finding out which Republican candidates won, whoever wins will be the person to run against the Democrats this Fall.  We also had to vote on the Marriage Ammendment, this is the ammendment that defines marriage to be only between a man and a woman (of course I voted for this ammendment). Tonight, I will be going with my mom to a Victory party with Ilario Pantano, one of the Republican candidates for Congress in my state.  I have personally met him one time before, so I am excited (as a voter) to be meeting him again. 

Today is grade day at my community college, so here are my final grades for this semester:

Mathematics Models - "B"
Argument-based Research - "A"
Oral Communication - "A"
Fundamentals of Selling - "A"
Survey of Economics - "B"
Physical Fitness I - "A"

With these grades, I have a 3.6 GPA for this semester.  My final GPA for all classes I have taken is a 3.3 GPA. Looks like I will be qualifying for the Honors program and dorm at college this Fall, all my hard work has paid off. I am sooo excited!!!  And I am so glad to be all done with school for now, I am looking forward to my summer camp job.  Next, I have graduation photos and graduation practice tomorrow night.  Then, Thursday night.....graduation  !  It can come fast enough!
