Hey everyone, here I am again with "letters from camp", lol. Week three has come and gone with the usual excitement of games, activities, and preaching. As I mentioned last week, I was switched over to operational staff, so I was busy with whatever things needed to be done. Some fellow staff and I cleared away a bunch of brush in front of the lake. We also trimmed bushes, washed dishes, and did other yard work. Yes, I know, not the most exciting stuff to be doing
but I suppose it is better than when I worked at Burger King. I also had the job of getting the correct size rollerskates or rollerblades for the teens, plus I got to enjoy helping out with some of the games/activities. One of the games involved me trying to get the ball from three of the campers. I came running at them yelling and hollering like crazy. Lol
, they freely gave me the ball without a fight. In between all of this, I got sick on Thursday evening
, I guess it was from my allergies and sinuses. I didn't feel well and also didn't want to eat anything....a sure sign that I was sick, lol, because I usually love to eat. They took temperature which was 101 degrees
so they gave me Motrin and sent me to bed early. I went to bed at 8:00 p.m. and didn't get up until 8:00 a.m., I definitely felt a whole lot better after that long rest. Anyway, this week we are being "invaded" by junior age campers, lol
, it should be fun. Below is a picture of me helping out with one of the roller skating activities, I am standing on the left wearing a blue t-shirt, baggy shorts, and roller blades:

Hi everyone! Another week of summer camp has gone by and I survived, lol! We had junior age campers last week and as usual it was a lot of fun. Compared to the teen campers, I found the junior age boys to be really noisy
. Anyway, this week I have been switched over to operational staff, so I won't be a camp counselor with the kids this week. Operational staff members do things like yard work or operate the snack or gift shop. It's a new change for me so we'll see how this goes. Either way, it's been great fun working here, then enjoying time with fellow counselor friends on the weekend, and going to church too. Below is a goofy picture of me and my fellow counselors dressed all funny for a game we play with the kids, called "Counselor Hunt", they have a great time with it. I am the one on the left with the bushy brown wig and eyeglasses. See you next week!
. Yes, I know, sounds strange, but it was the fun part of staff training, lol. It was important to be able to survive such things, especially if you're going to be dealing with campers, lol. Along with this, I also got CPR certified. Then there was the spiritual preparation as well, doing Bible studies, memorizing Bible verses, singing in the staff choir, and going to church on the weekends. So, I was as ready as I could be when my first group of campers arrived last week, a church group from out of state.
. Unknown to us, the teen boys in our cabin had taken out the wooden slats under the mattress of our beds. I thought something was a little "off", but I just couldn't put my finger on it. So, when my co-counselor and I each sat on our own bed.....we went right thru to the floor
. Sigh! Other craziness included soccer, roller skating (need to work on that some more, lol), lake time, hilarious skits and plays, singing for my mail
. As for me, I have recovered from the week's mishaps, lol, and look forward to having another fabulous week of camp. This week we will be having junior age campers
