I'm going to camp in two days....
woo hoo! Actually, I will be taking off for my summer camp job this Saturday, I am so looking forward to this! One thing though, I will not have internet access during this time, so I'm not going to be able to post blog entries. However, I can write letters home or call once a week, so my mom has graciously offerred to post an entry here and there for me about what I write, they will be title "Letters from Camp", lol. Anyway, as I said, I am so excited about all of this. Keep me in your prayers as I venture off to my summer camp job!Sportsguy
I have a little over a week until I go, but I am getting things done now....I guess I am in a little bit of a hurry to get going, lol! Along with packing, I have been getting the Bible studies done and also memorizing some verses, all of this sent to me by e-mail from the camp I will be working at. Since this is a Christian summer camp I will be working at, there is spiritual "packing" needing to be done as well. It's a good way to get ready!
We were at our town's strawberry festival and they had this contest going on. We had five minutes to eat as many hot dogs as we could....I managed to eat five hot dogs in five minutes, so I won second place. The first place winner had eaten 10 hot dogs in 5 minutes 
, can you believe that?! I got a t-shirt, ribbon, and a gift card for a grocery store. After that, my sister Catlover and I got to drive in a race car simulator. 
I am embarrassed to say that my sister did better in the race than I did. Not to be outdone by my younger sister, I challenged her to a water bomb game they had set up at one of the booths there. Well, that didn't go exactly as I had planned either....let's just say I got soaking wet, lol

Today was the day my state had its primaries, so I was off to vote today. But before I did my voting, I did some volunteering with my county's Republican party. I passed out flyers for Republican candidates, gave out some voting information, and passed out ballot samples. I was really excited to be able to volunteer in this way....and finally get to vote!
Later on tonight we will be finding out which Republican candidates won, whoever wins will be the person to run against the Democrats this Fall. We also had to vote on the Marriage Ammendment, this is the ammendment that defines marriage to be only between a man and a woman (of course I voted for this ammendment). Tonight, I will be going with my mom to a Victory party with Ilario Pantano, one of the Republican candidates for Congress in my state. I have personally met him one time before, so I am excited (as a voter) to be meeting him again. 
! It can come fast enough!
! So of course I am in the midst of studying for exams, getting a paper done for English, crtitiquing a speech, and then I have a speech to give later today....a special ocassion speech. Thankfully this speech will be a little easier in that no research was needed, plus the time limit is shorter. But in the middle of all this studying, I did get to enjoy going on a field trip Friday with college classmates of mine, we had a really great time! 
. The zoo was really huge so my legs really got a workout. We had an awesome time! There was soooo much to see, there aren't enough words to describe it, so here are some pictures:
I've been flying thru a lot of studying this week, but things are slowly winding down towards graduation from community college. I gave my persuassive speech on Monday, it was on "Why Athletes Need a Cap on Their Salary". I did alright on the speech but was short on my time, so I'm sure I lost points on that....oh well. On Tuesday I had a major Math test, I did good on that test and now I'm holding onto a "B" n that class. Also, Tuesday and Wednesday was a little hectic as I was getting a sales presentation together for my "Sales and Advertising" class. Everyone in the class was partnered with someone to put together a role-play presentation. The person I was partnered with was frantically getting her stuf together s well just like I was. I had gotten some of it done but so much other schoolwork got in the way of my completing it. So we worked on it and finally got it all put together on Wednesday. Our role-play presentation was on Poppa John's Pizza, I played the role of someone representing the Poppa John's company 
. We managed to do very well and we also made the required time frame of 10-12 minutes. I picked up my graduation cap/gown, announcements, and name cards on Wednesday, so it's time to get busy and get those announcements in the mail. Some of them I will be mailing to relatives and friends, and some of them I will be giving to friends of mine. For now, I continue on with getting other assignments done. I have a major paper to do for my online English class, an Economics test, as well as critiquing a speech and writing a paper on that too. Physical ed. class is progressing well, although we all got quite a workout on the exercise bikes 
. But I need to stay in shape so I can be ready for my summer job at camp. Well, that's about it for now, have a great weekend!
