So here is my first official "Letters from Camp", lol. The pictures in my previous post only showed a little of what went on during staff training. Other things we did included eating a ton of candy, running out on a quick shopping trip, more running, getting tossed into the lake, and eating sardines

. Yes, I know, sounds strange, but it was the fun part of staff training, lol. It was important to be able to survive such things, especially if you're going to be dealing with campers, lol. Along with this, I also got CPR certified. Then there was the spiritual preparation as well, doing Bible studies, memorizing Bible verses, singing in the staff choir, and going to church on the weekends. So, I was as ready as I could be when my first group of campers arrived last week, a church group from out of state.
I had a group of young teen boys in my cabin, they were a fairly well-behaved bunch.....except for that one trick they played on me and my co-counselor

. Unknown to us, the teen boys in our cabin had taken out the wooden slats under the mattress of our beds. I thought something was a little "off", but I just couldn't put my finger on it. So, when my co-counselor and I each sat on our own bed.....we went right thru to the floor

. Sigh! Other craziness included soccer, roller skating (need to work on that some more, lol), lake time, hilarious skits and plays, singing for my mail

, and tubing on the lake. Yes, it's a camp tradition that the counselors have to sing a silly song in front of everyone when they get mail. Since I and my co-counselor had gotten mail, we both sang a duet of "You Are My Sunshine", lol

. Oh, and when I went tubing with some of the teens and counselors, I ended up flipping underneath the thing since that can be a bouncy ride. I certainly got a mouthful of water with that, lol, probably swallowed half the lake. One other mishap came about when one of the kids was goofing around with me....my glasses ended up getting accidently broken in the middle. Thankfully the lens are alright and, for now, I have my glasses taped in the middle...although that's not working too well. When I get the chance, I will be going to Wal-mart to see if they have an eyeglass place where I can get my glasses repaired.
So, it was a great week which also included a young teen getting saved

. As for me, I have recovered from the week's mishaps, lol, and look forward to having another fabulous week of camp. This week we will be having junior age campers

, lol, so pray for us! Oh, and I'll be sure to look before I sit down on my bed, lol!
